Pancakes with Cinnamon Apples
- 2 CHEF'S CRAFT® Maple Cinnamon Apple chicken breakfast sausages
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar, optional
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 - 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Vegetable oil for griddle
- Maple syrup
- Butter for pancake topping, optional
- Cinnamon apples
- 2 apples - diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine wet ingredients with sugar and melted butter. In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients into wet ½ cup at a time until lightly mixed. Allow batter to rest for a few minutes.
Heat griddle on medium, oil with a small amount of oil on a paper towel.
Pour ⅓ cup of batter on preheated griddle and cook till edges are dry and bubbles appear sitting on the pancake. Flip and cook another couple of minutes to brown. Adjust heat if needed.
As the pancakes come off the griddle, butter them and place in a warm oven.
Lightly coat skillet with a small amount of oil. Sauté CHEF’S CRAFT® Maple Cinnamon Apple chicken breakfast sausages over medium-high heat for 3–5 minutes or until sausages reach 145°F. Sausages will achieve a golden brown color.
Combine all ingredients for apples together in a skillet and sauté on medium heat until the apples become translucent and are cooked through.
Serve pancakes with syrup and cinnamon apples.
